Vitamin A
Eye health – Vitamin A supports essential eye function and helps improve night vision.
Immune system – An important aspect of Vitamin A is its potential to help synchronize the immune system and protect against infection by harmful bacteria. Additionally, it has antioxidant properties which helps to counteract free radicals (free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules) present in the body that can be detrimental to cell health.
Tissue maintenance – Vitamin A also helps the body to support the health of tissues in many sensitive areas of the body. Vitamin A is vital for pregnant women, as it assists in tissue repair.
Vitamin C
Antioxidant – Its Antioxidant properties defend cells from mutation and damage. It helps to maintain the immune system, which is the body’s first line of defense against cancer and all other diseases.
Helps prevent cataracts – Cataracts are the clouding of the lens of the eye eventually making it completely opaque, causing blindness. This is a problem more commonly found in older adults. Vitamin C is necessary to counteract all the free radicals that form on the eye as a result of direct exposure to sunlight which can develop into cataracts.
Helps to prevent heart disease – Vitamin C prevents free radicals from damaging artery walls, which could lead to plaque formation. This nutrient also keeps cholesterol in the bloodstream from oxidizing, another early step in the progression towards heart disease and stroke.
Decrease asthmatic symptoms – A noticeable decrease in asthmatic symptoms can achieved by taking 1,000 to 2,000 mg per day. This also can decrease the production of histamine, which contributes to inflammation.
Iron
Formation of hemoglobin – This is the main role of this mineral. Iron also aids in transporting oxygen to cells. Excess hemoglobin is extremely important because we tend to lose blood in a variety of ways.
Muscle function – Iron plays an essential role in the health of muscles. It is present in the muscle tissues and helps to supply oxygen necessary for muscle contraction.
Oxygen carrier – Iron acts as an oxygen carrier; this allows it to transfer oxygen between cells.
Anemia in women – Iron helps to treat anemia that is common in women who are menstruating. New red blood cells must replace lost cells, so consuming significant amounts of iron is necessary for many women.
Thiamine (Vitamin B1)
Metabolism – Thiamine helps metabolize protein, carbohydrates and fat; turning them into energy. It is essential converting carbohydrates into energy.
Maintain Heart Function – Thiamine has a role in the proper creation of blood, as well as natural heart health.
Digestive Function – Thiamine helps to normalize the production of hydrochloric acid, which is a fundamental part of digestive maintenance.
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
Growth and repair – Riboflavin is needed to assist normal cell growth, reproduction, and repair.
Blood health – Along with iron, Riboflavin is vital in the production of red blood cells.
Immune system – Riboflavin helps the immune system operate normally. It bolsters the immune system by boosting the supply of antibodies, which protect against infection.
Phosphorus
Bone and tooth health – Phosphorus is the second most abundant mineral in the body. About 85% of Phosphorus in the body helps aid in the health of bones and teeth.
DNA and RNA Health – Phosphorus is an important element of DNA and RNA, this makes it a necessary part of cellular growth and reproduction.
Copper
Enzymatic reaction – Copper is a part of as many as 50 different enzymes that are involved in various biological reactions within the body.
Proper growth – Copper vital for normal growth and health. It helps in protection of the skeletal, nervous and cardiovascular systems.
